About

My News Pilot is a website that brings together all the news you want to read, automatically. It is a site that can tailor the day’s news to bring you exactly what affects you most. My News Pilot is a news site that blends the authority of a newspaper with the accessibility of the web.

The founders are Eric Gembarowski and Sebastien Bauge. We are both graduate students at the Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. We have both worked for major legacy newspapers and their associated news sites. Our publications have appeared in The Arizona Republic, azcentral.com, CNBC, ABC 15, The Phoenix Business Journal, and The Tucson Sentinel.

We have grown up around a news culture that is struggling to find footing in the digital age. We have spent our education working and trying to define it. Now we are attempting to take a stab at a solution. Under the eye of various professors and advisors at the Cronkite School, we are building My News Pilot.

We don’t claim to have all the answers, especially from the technical standpoint. But we have both worked for major news websites and can handle ourselves in HTML. Sebastien has also consulted a previous startup company and helped build a successful online magazine. He specializes in print journalism and has done extensive reporting on the U.S./Mexico border. Eric specializes in sports news and broadcast journalism, having worked on documentaries with CNBC in the past. We each bring something unique to the table and a unique discipline of journalism. We’re learning the rest as we go. There’s a clear vision for what we want the future to be, now we’re working on the implementation. Luckily we have had a lot of guidance.
